Large-scale, renewable and fossil free. Energy you can be proud of.
Swedish solar power - an endless energy source

Ilmatar Solar develops production sites for green energy in Sweden. Our goal is to own and operate large-scale solar parks in various locations in Sweden. This is so we can really make a difference in the work to create a self-sufficient energy system built on green energy according to Agenda 2030.
Thanks to rapid technological development, solar energy has many advantages over other energy sources. Large-scale Swedish solar power is both infinite and cheap. But despite the high energy demand, there is a lack of large-scale solar installations in Sweden. We want to change that.

We believe that large-scale solar parks are the best way to use land that lacks significant economic or environmental value. The parks create a high return for both investors and landowners and contribute to Sweden becoming self-sufficient in green energy. Solar cells also have very little environmental consequences.

Solar parks, a good way to make land use more efficient
According to farmer Robert Pettersson (left in picture) at Wästanå Gård, the planned solar park in Olivehult means that land that today consists of forest with low natural values can be used to produce energy, increase biodiversity and contribute to producing food.
– We need more energy and grazing animals in Sweden, he says.

We build and stay
Unlike many other actors, Ilmatar Solar doesn’t develop solar parks in order to sell them to new owners and then move on. We build and stay to sell the energy. We always remain the majority owner in the parks – from the time planning begins until the parks reach the end of their economic life after 50 years.
We’re present in and contribute to the local community during all these years. Of course, we aim for a minimal impact on the environment and climate during planning, construction and operation. Since we sell the energy, we also want to make it easy for consumers to choose renewable energy.
